LEADERSHIP: GOVERNOR AKEREDOLU WAS RIGGED INTO OFFICE, SAYS EX SSG, ONDO STATE

have emerged that Mr 
Ifedayo Abegunde, who recently resigned his appointment as the Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), has alleged that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu did not win the 2016 election. Explaining why he left Akeredolu's administration, Abegunde claims that the last governorship election in Ondo State was rigged Mr. Abegunde resigned on Monday, July 6, 2020. The former SSG made this claim hours after his resignation, and while speaking on a radio programme, Crest 87.7 FM in Akure. 

While noting that they were the pillars behind Akeredolu, Abegunde said they will not be supporting him and he will lose. He says he no longer wants to be part of a government that makes its subjects to pass through hardships, adding that salaries are not paid as and when due and the governor has not performed up to the expectations of the people. 

In a swift reaction, Governor Akeredolu has called for Mr Abegunde`s arrest. 

The Nation cited some sources as saying that the SSG who is popularly known as Abena resigned to contest as a deputy governor to one of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in the state, 

Meanwhile, there are REPORTS that Governor Akeredolu has recovered from COVID-19.
